About the Grant:
The grant was made possible by the generous support of the Monticello Central School District, through the Empire State After-School Program grant. The Empire State After-School Program was initiated by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to provide $35 million in funding for high-need school districts across New York. The grant funding will last until August 2022.
About the Trips: The program aims to diversify the families who have access to quality fun and educational field trip experiences throughout New York State. To be a part of the program children only need to be members of the Sullivan County NY community 75% of the year. The Kiwanis of Woodridge New York Foundation provides snacks for all of the children attending the trip. Nana’s House believes exceptional field trip experiences prepares children to shift their paradigm in thinking about the world and their place in it.
This trip does limit the amount of children per family that attend to three (3) per family. There is not a limit on the number of trips a family can attend. We ask that you keep in mind, the goal is to provide these experiences to all. Parents or the legal guardian of the child must attend the trip.
Nana's House will pay for children 17 and under to attend, adults must support their own expenses. Nana's House will not watch or take responsibility to watch, supervise, or care for children on any of these functions. It is the sole responsibility of the parent or legally responsible person to watch, supervise, and care for their child.
According to Dr. Sean Wall-Carty, President and CEO of Nana’s House Child Care Center, Inc. “We have trips planned to USS Intrepid, The Bronx Zoo, and Aladdin on Broadway. This is our way of giving back to the community. Providing an interactive and fun educational experience for children is one of the most profound gifts any organization can give to their community! Our program will have a significant positive impact on several Sullivan County families for the next few years.”
